2024 Bond Program, Investing in Student Success

STEM Launch Bond Projects

The 2024 bond will fund a wide range of improvements at STEM Launch that support hands-on learning and student well-being. In all, bond investments at STEM Launch will total between $5.2 million and $6.2 million.

As part of a district-wide push to introduce career and technical education (CTE) to students in grades 6 through 8, classroom space at STEM Launch will be converted to support new career-focused programming. These flexible spaces will support instruction in a variety of subjects such as design, entrepreneurship and business. By introducing CTE earlier, students will have the chance to discover new passions, strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and begin building a foundation for future academic or career success.

Other interior upgrades include updated flooring, wall finishes and furnishings. Aging building systems, including heating, cooling, sewer and electrical components, will be modernized to improve efficiency and comfort, and air conditioning will be added to the gym.

Safety enhancements at STEM Launch include new classroom door locks, exterior door sensors and upgraded intercoms, while technology improvements will provide faster Wi-Fi and new network cabling. Exterior projects will address landscaping, irrigation and repairs to select parking lots.

In all, these improvements will ensure STEM Launch continues to provide a safe, reliable and inclusive environment for students and staff.

Projected construction budget:

The 2024 bond is focused on improving and updating facilities across the district. All bond projects will benefit students, staff and the community by investing in our buildings and – by extension – investing in our community. These investments vary from paving and resurfacing projects to major interior and exterior overhauls to update school furnishings and finishes.

All schools are also receiving comprehensive IT upgrades through the 2024 bond. These upgrades will support faster network connections and support advanced classroom tools. IT projects will also boost school safety and security, with improved security cameras, exterior door sensors and updated safety systems.
