Clubs at STEM Launch
At STEM Launch, learning goes beyond the classroom through a wide variety of clubs and enrichment opportunities. Students have the chance to explore their interests, build new skills, and connect with peers through engaging activities. From STEM-focused groups like Club Innovation (led by CU Science Discovery and funded by a CDE community grant) to creative outlets such as art, music, and crafts, and more, there is something for every student. These clubs give students the opportunity to discover their passions, strengthen collaboration and problem-solving skills, and experience authentic, real-world learning in a fun and supportive environment.

K-8 Clubs*

🚀 Club Innovation (3rd-6th)

Summary: Club Innovation, offered in partnership with CU Science Discovery through a CDE Grant, provides after-school math tutoring and STEM enrichment twice a week. Students will engage in hands-on projects while strengthening academic skills.

Attendance Policy: Students may not exceed two unexcused absences. Excused absences (illness/travel) should be reported to Caitlyn Anderson at caitlin.Anderson-1@colorado.edu. More than two unexcused absences may result in removal from the club and a waitlist student taking the spot.

Behavior Expectations: Respectful, school-appropriate behavior is required. Repeated disruptions will result in verbal warnings, early pick-up, family meetings, and possible removal from the club.

🎨 DIY STEM Gear (4th-8th)

Summary: Create your own custom STEM gear! Students bring their choice of clothing (zip-up, t-shirt, or sweatshirt in blue, black, or gray) and use Canva or Cricut Design Space to personalize it with the official STEM logo and vinyl/sublimation designs. Walk away with unique, wearable STEM style!

🌱 Garden Club (3rd-8th)

Summary: Learn, grow, and harvest in the school’s own garden! Students will gain hands-on experience planting, tending, and enjoying the rewards of gardening while connecting with nature.

🎶 Choir Club (2nd–5th)

Summary: Come and join the music-making! We’ll sing, move, and play instruments, and perform in a concert with the middle school choir. Please be on time—this is a short rehearsal and Mrs. Surbrook cannot keep opening the doors for late arrivals. Students may help with moving choir shells and chairs when needed.

Description:
The National STEM Honor Society celebrates students who show excitement for science 🔬, technology 💻, engineering 🛠️, and math ➗ and who work hard to grow as learners and leaders 🌟. Being part of NSTEM is a special honor that recognizes curiosity, creativity, and achievement.

At STEM Launch, students in grades K–5 are recommended by their teachers for showing strong effort and passion for STEM learning. In grades 6–8, students are invited based on their grade point average, recognizing their dedication and success in the classroom. All students will be asked to complete an age appropriate application.
